Factory reset a Vodafone modem

This page explains how you can factory reset the following Vodafone modems:

Ultra Hub (H500-t)Ultra Hub Plus
Vodafone B818 Vodafone B315
Vodafone B525 Modem Vodafone Wireless Modem (HG659)
Vodafone StationVodafone Broadband Complete

Before you start

Warning

This will remove your current settings and restore the default settings that came with your modem (including your modem password).


Please ensure your modem is powered on before starting this process.

We also recommend that you connect to your modem using an Ethernet cable.

Steps

Select your modem:

What you'll need

  • The affected Vodafone Ultra Hub
  • x1 ballpoint pen or pin
  1. Ensure the Ultra Hub is powered on
  2. On the back of the modem, find the Reset hole and lightly press the reset button using either a ballpoint pen or pin
    All the modem lights will turn on
  3. While holding the reset button, wait for all of the modem lights to turn off and then immediately stop pressing the reset button
    The lights will turn off in a sequence


    After releasing the reset button, your modem will go through its reset cycle. During this time the Power light may turn on and off up to 10 times
  4. Wait for the Power and Internet lights to turn on

    When the modem finishes powering on, open your web browser and go to 192.168.1.1 and try entering the username and password which appears on the bottom of your modem

Web management page

What you'll need

  • The affected Vodafone Ultra Hub
  1. Open a web browser and go to 192.168.1.1
    The Welcome screen appears
  2. Complete the following fields:
    • Username: vodafone
    • Password: You can find this on the bottom of your modem
  3. Click Log In
    The Overview screen appears
  4. Click the Settings tab
  5. From the left-hand menu, click Configuration
    The Configuration screen appears
  6. In the Factory Settings section, click Reset
    The Factory Reset popup appears
  7. Click Apply
    A Configuration Restoration progress bar appears - ensure you do not turn off your modem while this is on your screen.
    After the factory reset is complete, the Configuration Restored Successfully message appears.
    Please note: It can take 3-5 minutes for the router menu to come back online. In some circumstances you may see a timeout page before the success screen - simply try to log in again after about 5 minutes.
  8. Click OK
Vodafone wireless modem (HG659)
  1. Log into the web management page, using your web browser, http://192.168.1.1
  2. In the navigation tree, choose Maintain > Device Management.
  3. In Factory Restore, click Reset.
  4. In the displayed dialog box, click OK.

Option 1 - Reset button

At the bottom of your modem, press and hold the RESET button for 10 seconds

Please note: You'll need to use a paperclip (or similar size object) to press the button

The light pattern on the front of your modem will change

Option 2 - Web management page

  1. Open a browser and go to 192.168.1.1
  2. Enter your password
    Note: The default password is listed on the modem sticker
  3. From the top-menu, click Advanced
  4. From the left-side menu, expand the Systems option then select Reset
  5. Click Reset
    Please note: this will revert your modem settings back to their factory defaults

There are two ways to factory reset your modem:

After the factory reset completes, you are taken back to the web management home page.

Vodafone B315

To reset your router to the default settings, press the Reset button for more than 3 seconds - this is to the left of the power plug on the back of the device.

  1. Log into the web management page, using your web browser, go to http://192.168.0.1
  2. On the web management page, select Status from the top horizontal navigation
  3. Then select Password, from the left-hand navigation
  4. On that page, change Restore Factory Defaults to yes
  5. Press the Apply button below

Vodafone Station
  1. Log into the Vodafone Station by entering the following URL into your internet browser: http://vodafone.station OR 192.168.1.1
  2. Click on Advanced on the top menu
  3. Click on Additional Settings in the sub-menu
  4. To factory reset the Vodafone Station, click on the Reset button to perform a factory reset
  5. The Vodafone Station will now drop its connection to the Internet and the device will restart
  6. Once the Vodafone Station has powered back on and reconnected to the network, you will be asked if you want to keep your personal configuration or cancel. You need to select one of these options to complete the reset.
  7. The Vodafone Station will then run the automatic process to gain authentication details and connect to the internet.
  8. Internet connectivity can be checked via the icons on the front of the router on the LCD screen, or you can simply go to a website to check.

Note: Your Vodafone Station will re-start while Vodafone remotely configures it.

  1. Straighten out a paperclip to give you a prong to push the reset button
  2. The reset button is on the rear of the device, to the left of the power input
  3. To reset your modem, press the prong into the Reset recess, you will feel it 'click'
  4. Hold it in place for 5 seconds, then remove the prong and the modem will reset.

Please note: the default login username and password for your modem are vodafone and vodafone respectively.

Factory reset a Vodafone modem

This page explains how you can factory reset the following Vodafone modems:

  1. Open a web browser and go to 192.168.1.1

  7. Complete the New Password and Re-enter Password fields
    This will be your new Wi-Fi password
    As you enter your new password, we will indicate its strength (how easy it is to guess).

Please note: Wi-Fi is referred to as WLAN in your modem's settings.

  1. When you're connected to your Wi-Fi on your computer or tablet, open your web browser.
  2. In the address box, enter 192.168.1.1. Press Enter.
  3. On the screen like below, enter the default login user name (vodafone) and password (vodafone) - unless you changed these in which case use yours! Click Log in.
  4. Select Home Network from the navigation at the top of the screen.
  5. In the navigation on the left-hand side of your screen, choose WLAN Settings.
    For the Vodafone Broadband Complete modem, please choose Wi-Fi parameters.
  6. Click on the arrow next to WLAN Encryption to show the settings, enter your new SSID (Wi-Fi name) or WPA Pre-shared key (password), and click Saveat the bottom.
  7. Make sure you update all your devices (that connect to your Wi-Fi) with the new password to access your Wi-Fi.

Enable guest access

  1. On a computer or tablet connected to your Wi-Fi, enter 192.168.1.1 into your web browser

  1. Log in to the web management page enter 192.168.0.1 in your browser and press Enter.
  2. Username can be left blank and password (admin by default).
  3. Click Login.
  4. In the navigation, choose Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) or Automatic Security Configuration
  5. Enter your desired Device Name (Wi-Fi name) and Key (password), and click Save. The screen should look like below.
  6. Make sure you update all your Wi-Fi connected devices with the new name and/or password for your Wi-Fi.
